Not So Subtle Style

If you’ve been following this blog for any length of time now, you probably realize that my style is soooo not subtle most of the time 🙂 My heart belongs to a good flair jean, an oversized sleeve, a bright neon dress and any kind of over-the-top, ridiculous piece of faux fur. I was a little hesitant to try the wide leg culotte trend (I actually purchased these last year, but was too scared to ever wear them…ha!). I was worried they may look a little too boxy or make me look 10x my actual size (never a good thing!). Turns out, I absolutely love them. They are a fun choice for spring/summer when the weather is warmer and you don’t want to wear a tight pant.

Pumped for Spring

We are less than 2 weeks away from spring, people…and this girl is definitely ready! Although we had a nice run of warm weather here in February, the temps lately have been chilly and we’ve been hit with a ton of rain. Soooo..the coutdown is on for all things colorful & floral! Nothing says feminine and beautiful like a soft floral print on your heels. I linked a ton of my favs, because there are so many great options out there right now. Aren’t they just the perfect finishing touch?

Kiss of Cashmere

This is actually my first cashmere piece, and I love it because of how different it is (and can I mention how crazy soft too?!). You can wear this poncho a few different ways, but I chose the one shoulder version because it was just so nice out when we were shooting this, and I was ready for a little spring weather. Now we are in the middle of a rainstorm, so out come the sweaters again. I actually LOVE the rain, so I’m enjoying the extra days of boots & scarves. But, not gonna lie – those pool days in February were pretty darn nice too 😉

Completely Classic

This was literally the hardest shooting day we’ve had in a long time. The fog was SO thick, it was freezing, and my hair turned frizzy & flat the second I stepped out of the car. And where did my spray tan go? This was NOT a happy girl! Don’t you just hate when the weather doesn’t cooperate with your blogging schedule? 😉

I love this light weight duster from Asos. I’ve already worn it a bunch of times, and couldn’t resist styling it with my favorite nautical colors for spring. Now if only it had FELT like spring that day…

“BA-NA-NAS”

When I found out that I was attending the grand opening of Rachel Zoe’s pop up store in LA, the first thoughts running through my head were the following: “I DIE”, “IT’S BA-NA-NAS”, and “OMG, THIS IS SO MAJ”.

If you know anything about this fashion icon, then you know those are her famous phrases, and all three of them were pretty much running through my mind as I headed to her store. Over the past few months, I’ve had some pretty incredible opportunities, thanks to this little blogging world (meeting DVF was my total fashion highlight of last year!). But this was THE Rachel Zoe. The woman who’s career I have followed for the past 15 years, and who is single handily the reason behind every boho look that I have created in my head and then have worn in real life.

And I was about to meet her.

The store itself was absolutely gorgeous, and absolutely so Zoe. Lots of open space and natural light, with whites and ivories to make for a relaxed environment. She spent her time styling and chatting amongst the guests. I had my total fan girl moment when I was speaking to her and on a whim decided to show her my blog. OMG! Of course I showed her this post and gushed over how she had been my inspiration not only for a series of posts, but for how I dress in my everyday life as well. She was very gracious and thanked me, and it was at that moment I was hoping we were going to become BFF’s and head out for some margaritas together. But alas – that did not happen, and I headed back home without my new best friend.

Needless to say, it was a total bucket list moment for me, and truly a day that I will never forget (I may or may not have already developed the picture of us, bought a frame for it and hung it in my walk in closet – not sorry!).

Spring Forward

Last week I mentioned in this post that green was a color I never really owned, let alone wore very often. Well, you can also add periwinkle to that list too, because this color was another first for me! It was too hard to resist. Does this baby blue not scream “spring is coming”?! And now that I’m a tad bit obsessed with all things periwinkle, it has me dreaming of this watch, these earrings and hello fab heels.

This week has been super hectic, so I am beyond ready for the weekend. Buuuuut unfortunately for me, I’ve got a super busy weekend ahead too. Fingers crossed I can find some down time in there to play outside for a bit. The weather has been so crazy good lately!
