I grabbed this swimmie last year for our trip to Bora Bora, except it was delivered the day we left.

Bummed.

Then I had planned on packing it this summer for a girls trip to Palm Springs.

Postponed.

My last hope was our vacation to Lake Tahoe next week.

Except: Cancelled.

So I decided that since it was destined to go nowhere fun and exciting this summer (and well, neither was I), it was still going to see the light of day, only this time in our pool or local beach.

Because if Covid has taught us anything these past few months, it’s why wait for that perfect moment? In 2020, you just gotta make it work!

Q: What is the oldest piece in your closet that you still wear often?

A floor length faux-fur pelt coat. I wish I had somewhere to wear it to now! Maybe the mailbox? Grocery store? Gas station? πŸ˜‰

 

Q: What is your go-to outfit?

A good pair of denim, paired with a white top and blazer. I love reliable basics that never go out of style.

 

Q: What was your favorite decade for style?Β 

I’m such a fan of 70’s boho fashion. Gimmie all the wide leg pants, kimonos, head scarves and oversized sunnies please.

 

Q: Have you ever had a bad hair day? What does your hair routine look like?

Oh, the answer is so much yes! My routine is pretty simple. Last fall I went to more of a “cool blonde” color, so I use products that help keep the ash color in for as long as I can. I use Schwarzkopf Color Freeze shampoo and Tone Enhancing spray conditioner. My go-to curling iron is the Ceramic T3.

 

Q: What is your favorite thing about your dog Riley?

Definitely too many things to list! I think my favorite is just what a cuddle bug he is. He also drinks his water in the funniest way. Shih tzu’s have sooo many cute quirks.

 

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: A Few Good Men!

Who would have thought that there wouldn’t be any parties or weddings this spring or summer to get dressed up for?

Keeping spirits high knowing that we will all one day soon, meet each other on the dance floor and be ready to party again like it’s 2021.

First off, thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment or send me a message with your questions. I enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed answering! I always find it interesting to see what you guys are curious about.

I’m breaking this Q&A into 2 posts, so stay tuned for the next batch! xo

 

Q: How do you work full time and still have time to blog?

A: It’s a definite balance, but after 6 years I feel as though I have the hang of it! Since I work during the day, I visit other blogs and respond to blog comments at night. Working and running a blog definitely feels like having 2 full time jobs on most days..

 

Q: When do you do your photo shoots and do you have help?

A: I only have one helper…my Husband! He’s been taking all of my blog photos since Day 1. We always shoot on weekends and early in the morning before the rest of the world wakes up.

 

Q: What was your first designer purchase?

A: A Chanel classic flap bag in orange patent leather. I still have it and love it so much to this day! It’s been on the blog before, and you’ll definitely see it again this fall.

 

Q: Have you always lived in California?

A: Yes! I was born and raised in Southern CA, and don’t think I’d ever move. We love where we live, plus my family is all here in Orange County too.

 

Q: What it your dream job? If fashion, what?

A: This is an easy one. I’d be a stylist – hands down! I wish I would have thought of that idea while in college, so I could have gone to school in the fashion fieldΒ  and done an internship at an earlier age. They say it’s never too late to follow your dreams, but I feel as though that ship has sailed. So thank goodness for this blog, because it allows me to live out all of my fashion dreams here!
